The Conciergerie is part of the Palais de la Cité. Part of it was used as a prison from the 1400s to 1914. The Conciergerie's main room, the Hall of the Men-at-Arms is 209 ft long, 90 ft wide and 28 ft high. It was built in 1302-1313 and was used as a dining room for the 2,000 people in the King's service.
