Africa 2006
In September/ October 2006 we took a trip to
Africa, stopping for a week in London on the way. The trip was a
safari organized directly through a company in Nairobi, Kenya. We went with friends from Calgary,
Lorna and Wayne McKenzie so the safari was the four of us with our driver. The company in Kenya was Discover Kenya Safaris at www.discoverkenyasafaris.com They specialize in private safaris and were fabulous! We would highly recommend them to anyone who is considering going to East Africa. Here are some pictures from the African portion of our trip to Africa. They are just a selection to give you an idea of the places we stayed and the sights we saw. Eventually we will be organizing them, adding some more and adding some explanation of the circumstances under which they were taken. They are all copyright but eventually, we will also be adding the copyright information onto some of the better ones. The camera puts an image number on each picture it takes. It went past 9999 and restarted at 0001. (yes, Allen has taken over 10,000 pictures since we got the camera 1 1/2 years ago. Thanks God we aren't paying for development of them all) Even though I added 10000 to the image numbers on the computer, the system wanted to put the second set in front of the first set. So they are split into two parts. For best viewing, you may want to change the display size on your computer to something with 800 as the second number and turn off all your toolbars. I'm still working on how to get rid of the waste space above the pictures. Lorna and Wayne: Here are the pictures we took of the two of you. There would have been a lot more if one of you would have posed with a lion or elephant for us. |
